Terms of Service

The rules for posting local restaurant signals, claiming restaurants, using paid owner tools, and accessing Tealo in its current United States-only launch.

Last updated April 27, 2026

1. Overview

These Terms govern access to Tealo, a United States-only service for sharing time-sensitive restaurant signals, viewing nearby activity, and managing verified restaurant owner tools.

By using Tealo, creating an account, posting a signal, submitting an owner claim, or using paid owner features, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and regional availability

Tealo is currently intended for users located in the United States. We may limit, block, or redirect access when we determine that a visitor is outside an area where Tealo is available.

You must be able to form a binding agreement and must use Tealo only for lawful restaurant discovery, posting, moderation, owner claim, and owner-management purposes.

3. Accounts and authentication

Some features require an account and sign-in credentials. You are responsible for keeping access to your account and email secure.

You agree to provide accurate account information and not impersonate another person, restaurant, employee, owner, reviewer, administrator, or local business.

You may delete your account through the account page when signed in. Account deletion removes sign-in access and profile details, but it does not automatically remove every record connected to safety, moderation, owner verification, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, legal, or service-integrity needs.

4. Signals and community content

Signals are short-lived local posts about restaurant experiences, menu items, availability, freshness, quality, service, or other nearby food context. You are responsible for the content you post, including text, tags, reactions, reports, and uploaded photos.

Do not post illegal content, threats, harassment, hate, private personal information, spam, deceptive reviews, paid endorsements without disclosure, content that infringes another party's rights, or content you know is false.

Tealo may remove, demote, hide, expire, or preserve content when needed for moderation, security, legal compliance, product integrity, or service operation.

5. Location-based features

Tealo uses approximate location and, if you choose to allow it, more precise device location to show nearby signals, enforce proximity-sensitive posting rules, and keep local feeds relevant.

Location associated with a signal may be used for feed and safety logic, but signal-created restaurants remain unresolved and off the public map until an owner claim or review process confirms a public business address.

6. Restaurant records and place resolution

Signals may create preliminary restaurant records from user-entered or detected restaurant names. Tealo may combine, correct, or update those records to reduce duplicates and improve accuracy.

Trusted business information services may be used after paid owner claim intent or review. A confirmed place can become the official map identity for a restaurant profile.

7. Owner claims and verification

To claim a restaurant, you may need to provide business name, address, owner or staff role, phone number, evidence statement, and payment for the application fee. Submitting a claim does not guarantee approval.

Tealo may verify owner claims through payment status, submitted evidence, place-resolution results, administrator review, business records, public information, or direct follow-up. False or misleading claims may be rejected or removed.

Approved claims may give the claiming account access to owner tools for that restaurant. Tealo may revoke or transfer owner access if a claim is fraudulent, obsolete, disputed, unpaid, or violates these Terms.

8. Payments and subscriptions

Owner application fees and owner subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment processor. Payment terms, tax handling, receipts, payment method storage, chargebacks, and subscription billing may be governed by that processor in addition to these Terms.

Application fees cover claim processing and verification work and are not a guarantee of approval. Subscription features may be limited to approved owners and may stop if a subscription becomes past due, canceled, unpaid, or otherwise inactive.

9. Acceptable use

You may not scrape, overload, reverse engineer, interfere with, abuse, or bypass Tealo systems, rate limits, payment flows, owner verification, place resolution, moderation, or regional restrictions.

You may not use Tealo to create fake restaurant profiles, manipulate local rankings, harass businesses or users, submit fraudulent owner claims, upload malware, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or admin tools.

10. Intellectual property

Tealo owns the service, interface, branding, software, and product experience. You retain rights you have in content you submit.

By posting or submitting content, you grant Tealo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt, moderate, analyze, and distribute that content for operating, improving, protecting, and promoting the service.

11. Third-party services

Tealo may rely on third-party service providers for account access, email delivery, hosting, data storage, file storage, payment processing, maps, place verification, analytics, safety, and other services needed to operate Tealo.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. Tealo is not responsible for third-party systems outside our control.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Tealo is provided as-is and as available. Restaurant signals are user-generated and time-sensitive; they may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, expired, or subjective.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tealo disclaims warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, business interruption, or decisions made based on restaurant signals.

13. Changes and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Tealo, including feeds, owner tools, pricing, claim workflows, moderation rules, and availability.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for users, restaurants, Tealo, or third parties.

After account deletion or termination, public signals may remain visible in anonymized or detached form, and retained operational records may continue to be used as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Contact

For account, claim, privacy, or legal questions, contact Tealo through the support or owner-contact channel made available in the app or by the operator of the service.
